they both have such a different feel to them, and my preference is the black and white. I think it partly has to do with how the background shows up and the distinction between it and the trees. For me the B&W makes for a sharper image.
HI Michael, Both are excellent but I do prefer the B&W – I think snow and winter trees look great in monochrome and this image has a good tonal range. 🙂
For me mono works best.

I’m with the others after much deliberation. The B&W makes the image more timeless I think. Great shot!
