
We live in an area which is home to a large Sikh community. Last summer I was involved in photographing our church Kids Camp. I saw this relaxed guy sitting by the playground, observing all the activities and felt compelled to capture this tender moment. I love this image partly because it transcends cultural barriers – just another grampa caring for his granddaughter. I have no idea what he was thinking of me, but I should have at least tried to chat and offer to make a print for him.
