Haha – well stated, Jude. I think we often underestimate how moods affect our perceptions. I think I like the dreamy one best b/c the (fairly sharp) red solid railing provides an nteresting contrast to the grey dreamy water.

I always prefer my original image to be as sharp as possible – then sharpened more during editing. However, I am becoming more comfortable with softening some areas of the image to provide better contrast with the main subject.
I really like both sharp and dreamy! Hard to choose, it might depend what mood I was in! 🙂

Me too. I tend towards sharpness and crispness – at least for some portion of the image.
