Pocket Couch

Beach, Contrasts, Fun, People

I snapped this photo while taking a walk at Crescent Beach – our favourite go-to place for a nice outing.  This is the first time I’ve encountered a Pocket Couch.  I took the shot via cell phone, but  didn’t realize until post-processing the interesting composition …

Modern Grampa

Kids, People, Portraits

Sihk Grampa

We live in an area which is home to a large Sikh community. Last summer I was involved in photographing our church Kids Camp. I saw this relaxed guy sitting by the playground, observing all the activities and felt compelled to capture this tender moment. I love this image partly because it transcends cultural  barriers – just another grampa caring for his granddaughter. I have no idea what he was thinking of me, but I should have at least tried to chat and offer to make a print for him.

Mt.St.Helens Trip

Fine Art-Nature, Fun, Hiking, Nature-Flora, Nature-Scenic, People

Something a bit different for this post. I went on a field trip to Mt.St.Helen’s with our Geography 12 class as a driver/chaperone. I made up this slide show which seemed to be enjoyed by folks. It is a bit long – just over 6 minutes, but the music moves it along quite nicely (“Water into Wine” by Bruce Cockburn) and the transitions are good. Ironicly, we couldn’t actually see Mt.St.Helens due to heavy fog, but we got to visit few places such as Lave Canyon and Ape Caves. So give it a shot – just for a minute – then you can turn it off and resume your busy on-line life. haha
